Council of Common Interests approves National Electricity Policy 2021 unanimously.

The CCI accorded approval to this policy during its meeting.

Later, Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar made this announcement, while addressing a news conference in Islamabad today (Monday).

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr. Waqar Masood Khan accompanied him.

He said new electricity policy will be effective for ten years. Moreover, new projects will get approval in a transparent manner under the policy.

The Minister further said they would devise policies for sub sectors in the light of new electricity policy.

He said with the help of new policy people will get low price and environment friendly electricity.

Moreover, he said one hundred billion rupees have been allocated to improve transmission system.
