Hamas warns Israel of paying heavy price on eviction of Palestinians from Quds.

The warning came in a rare public statement from Mohammed Deif, head of Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

Hamas warns Israel of paying heavy price on eviction of Palestinians

The Hamas in Gaza threatened Israel over tensions in occupied al Quds (occupied Jerusalem), as a number of Palestinian families face eviction.

The right-wing Israeli Jews are doing so to take control of homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

Mohammed Deif of Hamas’s armed wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, warned that Israel would pay a “heavy price” if the evictions went ahead.

He said he salutes our steadfast Palestinians at Sheikh Jarrah in occupied Jerusalem (al Quds).

He further said the resistance leadership and al-Qassam are watching closely what is happening in the neighborhood.

The Hamas leader mentioned it their final warning.

He said if the aggression against our people in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood does not stop immediately, we will not stand idly by and the occupation (Israel) will pay a heavy price.

Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the Sheikh Jarrah

Deif, one of the founders of Hamas’s military wing, is held responsible by Israel for personally orchestrating numerous suicide bombings.

Israel also blamed them for other attacks since the mid-1990s in which dozens if not hundreds of Israelis were killed.

Moreover, he has remained at the top of the Israeli wanted list since long.

Several Israeli assassination attempts made that left him injured.

One of his wives and two of his children embraced martyrdom in an Israeli attempt on his life during 2014’s Operation Protective Edge in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israel’s border with Gaza largely remained quiet in recent months following a truce between Israel and Hamas.

However, last week saw dozens of rockets fired at Israel following clashes in Jerusalem.

Deif’s threats came after arrests of two Palestinians and injuries to ten people in clashes in East Jerusalem on Monday evening.

According to the Israel Police and the Palestinian Red Crescent, these developments reported.

Protest against eviction of Palestinians

Meanwhile, Palestinians defied the occupying Israeli order to disperse.

The latter forced the demonstration with the use of mounted police and foul-smelling skunk water to end protest.

Moreover, the Red Crescent said three of the injured were hospitalized.

Weekly demonstrations have been held for years in Sheikh Jarrah. Because activists and Palestinian residents protest the eviction of some Palestinian families which Israel has been doing in favor of right-wing Jews.

According to the watchdog group Peace Now, Jewish claimants seek to evict 58 more Palestinians.

As per the left-wing nonprofit Ir Amim, the Justice Ministry is examining  some 600 eviction files currently.

They include: including 75 Palestinian families’ homes in Sheikh Jarrah.

Meanwhile, East Jerusalem Palestinians and their allies charge that the Israeli law discriminates against them.

They further said that Israeli law effectively allows Jews to reclaim property in East Jerusalem.

But Palestinians have no ability to make claims in the city’s Western Jewish-majority half.
