Mohammad Hafeez to serve as team director and head coach for Australia, NZ

Mohammad Hafeez, the former captain is believed to work as Pakistani Cricket team’s head coach and team director at the same time, the espncricinfo claimed.

Mohammad Hafeez will have dual roles in the team after Pakistan Cricket Board removed Mickey Arthur as team director.

Former PCB chairman Najam Sethi created the role of team director exclusively to keep Mickey Arthur at all cost with the team wherever necessary with the head coach Grant Bradburn.

The squad selection of the national Test team and new coaching staff will be announced next week.The Chief selector Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Hafeez and Captain Shan Masood will consult for the squad.

Mohammad Hafeez without having any international level experience for coaching will be open for challenge for Australia and New Zealand tour i.e three Test matches in Australia and five T20Is in New Zealand, in December and January.

The teams will contest the Benaud–Qadir Trophy and the series will be a part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship.

First Test: December 14-18, Perth Stadium
Second Test: December 26-30, MCG
Third Test: January 3-7, SCG

Pakistan tour of New Zealand
