NCOC asks provinces to take actions on violations of SOPs on Coronavirus.

National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) issued these directives during a meeting held in Islamabad on Monday.

Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar presided.

The meeting advised the provincial administrations to take strict actions on violations of COVID-19 related SOPs.

Furthermore, it asked the provinces to ensure that SOPs in transport, hotels and other places remain strictly followed.

Otherwise, they may consider strict actions resulting in the closure of tourism sector.

The meeting also emphasized the need for ensuring vaccination of senior citizens as majority of mortality cases belong to the senior group.

Meanwhile, the forum appreciated the provinces for taking prudent actions for disease control through High Impact Interventions.

Meanwhile, 13,537 people have died due to Coronavirus so far in Pakistan.

Among them 29 deaths reported in the country during the last 24 hours.

According to the NCOC, the country now has 22,038 active cases of the pandemic.

According to the fresh statistics, 2,253 new positive cases reported in the last 24 hours.

571,878 patients stand recovered from the pandemic.

On the other hand, Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar spoke on the issue.

He said the third wave of coronavirus is more lethal as compared to previous as its mortality rate is also higher.

While talking to a private news channel, he said the vaccination registration for people aged 50 or above would open in coming 10 days.
