Pakistan sends second consignment of relief goods to Gaza

Islamabad : Pakistan on Tuesday sent a second round of humanitarian aid to people in the Gaza Strip.
Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Gilani saw off a special aircraft carrying 90 tonnes of sanitary products, medicines and food packages at the Islamabad International Airport here.
Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan Ahmed Javad Rabi, Human Rights Minister Khalil George, and senior officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) were in attendance.
Gilani said Pakistan is sending humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, who constantly face repression from Israeli security forces. He called on the international community to play a role in peacefully resolving the conflict by establishing an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital. He expressed Pakistan’s full solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters and condemned Israel’s brutal, disproportionate and indiscriminate use of force against civilians, including women and children, currently under siege in Gaza.
The minister stressed the urgency of immediately ending Israeli aggression and lifting the siege of Gaza. He called for upholding the principles of justice and humanity and facilitating the provision of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed Javad Rabii thanked the Pakistani government for its assistance and said the people of Gaza were facing extreme hardship. He said Pakistan has always supported the Palestinian cause. Earlier, Pakistan sent the first 100 tons of aid to Gaza on October 19.
