Pakistan supports right of Palestinians and Kashmiris to self determination.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the UN Security Council will no longer remain in a position to fudge the Palestine issue.

In an interview with Turkish TV channel, he said they (UNSC) would have to take a decision over it.

The FM said the people who had remained silent, or sitting on the fence had to react after witnessing grim situation in Palestine.

He said that such reaction resulted in an unprecedented emergency session of the UN general Assembly taken place over the Palestine situation.

Qureshi also drew similarities between the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

The foreign minister said both Kashmiris and Palestinians have been demanding their right to self-determination.

He said that both are crying about democratic restructuring.

He further said that both are witnessing threats of ethnic cleansing.

About the Afghan peace process, the foreign minister replied Pakistan and Turkey wanted to see the peace process move forward.

Palestinian Authority ambassador thanks Pakistan for solidarity

Meanwhile, Palestinian Authority ambassador thanked Pakistan for solidarity with Palestine.

On behalf of the Palestinian leadership and people, Ambassador of Palestine in Pakistan Ahmed Rabei expressed gratitude to the government of Pakistan and nation for expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

In an open letter, he conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for the remarkable efforts of Pakistan to support the Palestinian freedom.

Moreover, he also mentioned Pakistan’s condemnation of the Israeli atrocities against the unarmed Palestinians.

He said that they will not forget the observance of May 21 as Palestine solidarity day across Pakistan.

He further lauded the decision of the parliament passing unanimous resolution, condemning the Israel’s systematic oppression of the people of Palestine and demanding the UN to probe the human rights violations.

Meanwhile, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar met with Member of the US Congress Eddie Bernice Johnson in United States on Monday.
