Sohail Afridi Takes Oath as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister After Political Drama

After days of political uncertainty and high drama, PTI-backed leader Sohail Khan Afridi has officially taken oath as the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The oath ceremony took place on Wednesday at 4 PM, following the orders of the Peshawar High Court (PHC).

The situation became tense after confusion over the resignation of the previous chief executive. The Peshawar High Court intervened and directed KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to administer the oath to Sohail Afridi without further delay.

This court decision ended the political deadlock and cleared the way for the new chief minister to assume office.

For several days, there had been reports of disagreements and internal pressure within the province regarding the change of leadership. Questions were raised over the timing and acceptance of the resignation of the outgoing CM.

Supporters of PTI had demanded immediate action, claiming that the delay was politically motivated.

With the oath now taken, Sohail Afridi is expected to form his cabinet and begin addressing key issues faced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including development, governance, and security.
