World Bank Approves $400 Million for Pakistan’s Water and Sanitation Projects

World Bank Report: Pakistan Part of Fastest Growing Region in South Asia
The World Bank has approved $400 million for Pakistan to support projects related to water, sanitation, and basic hygiene, the Bank announced.
The funding will also help improve institutional and financial performance of urban administration in Punjab.
Under the program, named PIC-P (Punjab Institutional Capacity Program), projects will be launched in 16 cities across Punjab, the World Bank stated.
The program aims to upgrade and restore sewerage systems, improve water treatment plants, and enhance overall urban water management services.
The World Bank highlighted that this initiative will strengthen both infrastructure and governance capacity to ensure sustainable water and sanitation services in Punjab’s cities.
