Shawwal moon likely to be visible today

There is a strong possibility that Shawwal moon will be visible in Pakistan today.

According to Meteorological Department experts, the age of the moon will complete to be visible to the human eye this evening, while the final announcement of the of Shawwal moon will be made by the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

On the other hand, the moon of Shawwal has not been seen in Saudi Arabia, in view of which, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow (Wednesday) in Saudi Arabia.

In addition, Eid-ul-Fitr will be marked on April 10 in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Australia, while the chances of a same Eid in the United Kingdom and the United States has also increased.

Earlier, the government of Pakistan has announced Eid ul Fitr holidays starting from April 10.

As per a notification released by the Cabinet Division, the holidays have been scheduled from Wednesday, April 10, to Friday, April 12, for offices observing a five-day work week.

However, for offices observing six working days a week, will observe holidays till Saturday, April 13.

Eidul Fitr is a significant festival in the Islamic lunar calendar, celebrated at the end of the holy month of Ramazan, when Muslims all over the world observe a month of fasting.

It marks the end of this period of self-restraint.
