Suitable raise in government employees salaries to be proposed in budget. 

In this regard, Finance Division will make proposal in Federal Government employees’ salaries.

Their proposed increase would come after taking the overall economic situation into consideration.

Finance Division on Thursday said this in a statement.

It further said that the government understands and acknowledges the difficulties and economic constraints which the federal government employees face with.

According to the statement, in response to the strike of the Secretariat employees for raising their salaries, the Ministry of Finance held meetings with Federal Government employees.

The meeting aimed to assure them that the government would duly consider their proposals.

PM assigned adviser

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had assigned his adviser to hold talks with striking employees.

He had also directed for uniform pay scales of government employees to avoid discrimination.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said this while briefing the media on cabinet decisions in Islamabad on Tuesday.

She said the Prime Minister assigned the Adviser on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh to hold talks with striking employees.

PM Khan further directed him to also work with central and provincial governments to remove this disparity.

He emphasized that booth should send proposals to cabinet, so that sense of deprivation among employees is removed.

She said people have high expectations from this government and all steps would be taken to ensure it.
