Cabinet Committee on the CPEC satisfied with the progress of projects during its meeting which held in Islamabad.

Minister for Planning, Asad Umar presided the meeting and reviewed the progress of CPEC.

The committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor expressed its satisfaction over the progress of CPEC projects.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa briefed the committee.

He briefed them on the progress of various CPEC projects being executed across the country.

Asim Bajwa said the officials from the relevant ministries reaffirmed their full commitment to accelerate work on CPEC projects.

In a series of tweets, Asad Umar said the cabinet’s committee reviewed progress of CPEC projects during the financial year 2019-20.

He said in the power sector, two projects with capacity of 1,980 MW commissioned besides ground breaking of another.

Similarly, financial close of two projects achieved, while concession agreements of two hydel projects of 1,800 MW capacity also signed.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the country’s economy is heading in the right direction with improvement in revenue collection and exports.

The PM expressed satisfaction in a televised message on the occasion of Independence Day on Friday.

Furthermore, he said one ca gauge the confidence of the business community on the economy from the recent upsurge in Pakistan Stock Market.
