ICC likely to unveil Champions Trohpy 2025 schedule next week
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to announce the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy on November 11, with a special event planned in Lahore to unveil the details.
An ICC delegation is scheduled to visit Lahore from November 10 to 12 to assess the arrangements for the tournament, which is set to take place in February and March next year.
According to reports, the schedule has already been shared with the participating nations and will be officially revealed during the event, which is expected to be attended by key figures from the cricketing world and other prominent personalities.
The proposed schedule has Pakistan placed in Group A alongside India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B will feature England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan. However, the participation of India is still pending, with the Indian government yet to confirm their involvement due to ongoing political tensions between the two countries.
The tournament is likely to commence on February 19, with Karachi hosting the opening game. The final is scheduled to take place on March 9 in Lahore, with March 10 designated as a reserved day for the summit clash.
A total of 15 matches will be played across three cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
Notably, all of India’s matches are planned to be held in Lahore, including the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match on March 1.
The semi-finals are set to be held on March 5 and 6, with Karachi and Rawalpindi hosting the matches, respectively.
