BISE Lahore reveals new dates for postponed Matric, Inter Exams

13 May, 2025 18:32

The Lahore Board has decided on new dates for the exams that were delayed because of security concerns during the recent Pakistan-India tensions, according to news reports.

The postponed intermediate written exams for Islamic Studies and Principles of Accounting, as well as matric practical exams for Computer Science, Biology, and Food and Nutrition, are expected to take place on May 17.

Other intermediate exams like Tarjimatul Quran, Ethics, and Social Studies will likely be held on May 24.

However, these new dates still need final approval from the Punjab Board Committee of Chairmen. Once approved, students will receive updated roll number slips.

Earlier, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that all public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the province will reopen on Monday.

These institutions were closed from May 7 due to Indian drone strikes affecting areas in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The education department had suspended classes to ensure everyone’s safety.

Now that the situation is improving, academic activities are returning to normal.
