Softball Federation President Asif Azeem Passes Away in Karachi

Asif Azeem, President of the Pakistan Softball Federation, passed away in Karachi on Thursday, May 22, 2025. He was receiving treatment at Jinnah Hospital due to heart-related complications.

According to reports, Asif Azeem had suffered a heart attack two weeks ago. He had been under medical care since then. His son confirmed the sad news, saying that his father had been in the hospital for 14 days.

Asif Azeem was a respected figure in Pakistan’s sports community. He worked not only with the Softball Federation but was also involved in Blind Cricket, Special Olympics, and the Pakistan Olympic Association.

He was known for his strong support of athletes, especially those with disabilities. He worked to promote different sports in the country and helped several sports grow on a national level.

At the time of his passing, Azeem was also serving as the Media Coordinator for the Pakistan Olympic Association. His colleagues remember him as a passionate and dedicated leader who gave his full efforts to sports development.

Tributes from the sports world have poured in since the news of his death. Many called him a mentor, a guide, and a true sports lover. His loss has created a big gap in Pakistan’s sports administration.
