Shaheen, Shadab, and Salt unite for WWE-style Champions Trophy promo

22 January, 2025 20:22

Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, all-rounder Shadab Khan, and England’s explosive top-order batter Phil Salt recently paid tribute to WWE’s iconic faction, The Shield, by replicating their signature fist bump in a promotional reel for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared the reel on its social media platforms, showcasing the trio in black attire, including gloves, while performing the signature fist bump, just like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose. The ICC captioned the post: “The newest faction. Believe in the Field.”

The promotional video quickly went viral on social media, with cricket fans hilariously comparing the three cricketers to The Shield members, calling Salt “Dean Ambrose,” Shaheen “Roman Reigns,” and Shadab “Seth Rollins.”
