President seeks drug policy for higher education institutions by March 2021.

He issued these directives, while chairing a meeting of Committee on Drug Abuse and Welfare of Differently-abled-Students in Islamabad today (Thursday).

President Dr Arif Alvi asked the Higher Education Commission to formulate a drug policy for higher education institutions.

He set March 2021 deadline for the policy that he said would save students from narcotics.

Besides it would provide them healthy learning environment.

The President asked the Commission to initiate measures for the welfare of differently-abled-students.

He called for providing them waiver in tuition fees, special transportation facility within educational institutions and relaxation in age.

The meeting emphasized the need to raise awareness among youth engaging social workers, media, NGOs and civil society against drug use.
