Fire breaks out at Ayesha Manzil’s furniture store

Karachi ; A fire broke out at a five-storey apartment building near Karachi’s downtown Ayesha Manzil area on Wednesday, injuring at least one person who was inside at the time of the incident.

Initially, an electrical leak caused a fire in one of his stores, but the flames quickly spread to other stores that are part of the furniture market located below the building near ayesha manzil. The disease then spread rapidly, affecting an entire building of 72 apartments. Firefighting teams arrived at the scene immediately after the fire broke out and they acted quickly, successfully evacuating the building within two hours while putting out the fire.

During rescue operations, a man with severe burns was removed from the building. Director of Rescue 1122 Sindh Abid Shaikh said during an interview with Geo News: Maximum number of people have been evacuated. Firefighting efforts are still ongoing. The fire was Type 3 and consumed the entire building. ” The affected building has two commercial floors, a ground floor and a mezzanine, and the top four floors are residential.

In this regard, Fire Officer Humayun Khan while talking to the media said that 6 fire tenders are busy extinguishing the fire, snorkel has also been called, the fire has reached the fourth floor of the building.

The spokesperson of Water Corporation says that emergency has been imposed on Nipa and Sakhi Hasan hydrants.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Water Corporation Salahuddin Ahmed says that several tankers have been dispatched to the affected location, the in-charge hydrants cell is in full communication with the fire brigade authorities, and water tankers will be provided to the fire brigade until the fire is completely under control.

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab says that fire brigade personnel are present to extinguish the fire, it would be premature to say how many people are in the building at the moment, there is a need to take comprehensive measures for fire safety.
